Deep in the Cecina valley, surrounded by a wall built with cyclopean stones, it stands the city of Volterra, village of Etruscan origin which still retains its ancient history. Hallmark is the extraction and processing of alabaster, which can be appreciated both along the city streets, and in the few remaining workshops.
